Barton is a suburb in Canberra, in the Australian state of New South Wales. It sits is adjacent to Parliament House on Capital Hill. It is bordered by the suburbs Parkes, Kingston, and Forrest. The suburb’s population is around one thousand inhabitants. Barton is one of Canberra’s most economically advantaged areas. It is named after the first Prime Minister of Australia and its streets have the names of Governors.
