Deakin is a suburb of Canberra, in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is located 6 km (4 miles) from the centre of the capital city. Deakin is named after the second Australian prime minister. It borders Stromlo Forest, Capital Hill, as well as Yarralumla, and other suburbs.
