Officially known as the Republic of the Philippines, this country in Asia is an archipelago of 7,107 islands. With over 36,289 kilometres (22,549 miles) of coastline, the Philippines is the country with the 5th longest coastline in the world. Most of the islands are mountainous, and are covered in tropical rainforest. The mountains are volcanic in origin. The country has a history that combines Asian, European, and American influences.

Prominent companies based in the Philippines include Chinatrust Commersial Bank, AirAsia Philippines, Philippine Airlines, ING Bank, Toyota, Ford Motor Company, and Smart Communications. There are good options for sourcing executive office suites within the Philippines.

Entertainment And Dining Out

As you would imagine with a country made up of over 7000 islands, there are many leisure activities on offer that include water. From lying on an isolated beach, to kite surfing, diving or kayaking, there is an island in this country that provides the perfect location for your favoured past time. Starting with Malayan and Polynesian origins, Pilipino cuisine has been blended with the many Hispanic, Chinese, American, and other Asian influences in the region. The area’s culinary community has appropriated many dishes from other countries and altered them to incorporate local ingredients. Meals can range from the very simple to exquisite fine-dining.

Transport Information

There are 85 public airports in the Philippines, and over 100 private air transport facilities. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the main international airport in the country, with other notable airports being the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Francisco Bangoy International Airport and Zamboanga International Airport. Getting around in urban areas is easy in the Philippines as all the major cities and towns will have taxis – including the famous jeepneys and motorised tricycles – as well as pubic bus services. Train services are offered by three main railway networks that serve different areas of Metro Manila and parts of Luzon. These networks are the Manila Light Rail Transit System (LRT), the Manila Metro Rail Transit System (MRT), and the Philippine National Railways (PNR). With so many islands and miles of coastline, it is often necessary to travel by watercraft.
