Located in the county of Nottinghamshire, Worksop lies on the edge of Sherwood Forest and is the largest town in the Bassetlaw region. Home to a number of residences for dukes, the town is also referred to as the “Gateway to the Dukeries”. The area has always been a combination of residential spaces and industrial setups with some big companies setting up their facilities in the vicinity. The town itself is steeped in history and is known for places such as Worksop Priory and Mr. Straw’s House. The town has been home to a number of famous personalities over the years including Bruce Dickinson, George Best, Mark Foster, Donald Pleasence, Graham Taylor and Chris Wood.

Eating out in Worksop brings out the culinary diversity of the town with restaurants like Jhinook serving spicy Indian food alongside the British food favourites that are served up at The White Lion. Olive Grove has Greek and Mediterranean cuisine on its menu while Liquorice Gardens is all about authentic American cooking.

Transport Information

The A1 and M1 pass by very close to Worksop with the A57 providing connectivity to these two main roadways. The A60 also runs through Worksop, connecting the industrial side of the town. Worksop Railway Station provides rail links along the Robin Hood Line and the Sheffield-Lincoln Line, connecting the town to Nottingham and Sheffield, amongst others. Nottingham Airport and East Midlands Airport are the closest hubs for air transport.
