The second largest city in Italy, Milan is considered one of the fashion capitals of the world and is a major commercial and financial part of modern Italy. Along with being home to two of the world’s biggest football teams, AC Milan and Internazionale, Milan is also home to the Santa Maria delle Grazie, Castello Sforzesco and Portinari Chapel football teams. The city is home to the European headquarters and offices of some major companies like Sky Italia, Telecom Italia Media and Pirelli. A number of fashion brands including Versace, Valentino and Armani are also headquartered in Milan.

Entertainment And Dining Out

Entertainment is second nature to Milan and a variety of live music, performing arts and theatre venues can be found here. There are a number of famous opera venues such as La Scala, which is considered amongst the most prestigious venue in Europe. There are many other venues for live acts, such as Teatro degli Arcimboldi, Teatro Lirico and Teatro Regio Ducal. Milan is a multicultural city with global cuisine on the menu. There are many eateries across the city, such as L’Immagine Ristorante Bistrot, which serves local and European cuisine. Iyo serves up Japanese cuisine while Del Vuoto is the place to pick up tasty local Italian cuisine in a modern setting.

Transport Information

Milan has five major railway stations including Milan Central Station, which connect it to the rest of the country. Travel within the city is facilitated by the Milan Metro, a rapid transit system that connects almost all parts of the city. The suburban railway network offers an overhead rail link to various parts of Milan while road transport is aided by a combination of buses, trolley-bus lines and tram lines, along with an extensive network of taxis. Malpensa Airport, Linate Airport and Orio al Serio Airport are all within easy reach.
