Kirchberg is a quarter within the north-eastern region of Luxembourg City. This quarter is home to several European Union institutions, including European Court of Justice, European Court of Auditors, parts of the European Commission, the Secretariat of the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank, and the European School of Luxembourg. There are also many buildings in the area that belong to the University of Luxembourg.

Kirchberg, in the eastern part of the city, is home to many international banks and the Auchan-owned shopping centre. This area also houses the Luxexpo exhibition centre, the Utopolis Kirchberg cinema, the largest sports venue in the country – D’Coque arena, and the Kirchberg Hospital. Kirchberg has a large and varied selection of office space in the quarter.

Grund is a neighbouring quarter that offers a historical and panoramic view of the city that can’t be beat. Take the lift through the rock down to the valley below Luxembourg City. This small community gathered around the castle that was built in the year 936. Traditional Luxembourg dishes lean heavily on meat and potatoes, with pork typically being the meat of choice. There are also several options for international cuisine. One international dining option in Luxembourg City is the Taj Mahal. This restaurant is a curry house that serves rich and wonderfully seasoned Indian food.

The closest airport to Kirchberg is Luxembourg Findel Airport. Another local airport is Metz-Nancy-Lorraine Airport in neighbouring France, which located is 90 km (55 miles) from Kirchberg. The entire city is small enough to get around on foot or on a bike. The fantastic scenery throughout the area makes walking the perfect way to see the sights. There is however a bus service in the city. Luxembourg City has the country’s main railway station. The regional train is a great way to get out and visit some of the smaller communities in the surrounding countryside.
